1. Initial contact and consultation
2. Manuscript is submitted for review
3. Manuscript is approved for publication
4. Contract is signed by both parties
5. Editing and proofreading as necessary
6. Cover is designed
7. Inside layout is designed and formatted
8. An electronic proof is approved by author and publisher
9. A hard copy proof is approved by author and publisher
10. Copyright is registered with the Library of Congress
11. Books are printed and distribution begins
12. Royalties are paid quarterly
